Rock Climbing in Pasco
The Huallay Stone Forest, in Pasco Department, offers almost 6,815 hectares of incredible rock formations and volcanic walls that put even the most expert climbers to the test if they want to reach the summit.
Besides resistance and ability, climbers need to have participated in a acclimatisation process that allows them to resist 4,000 masl. The forest is located in the heart of the Andean plateau, 350 kilometres east of Lima and close to Cerro de Pasco City.
Huayllay National Sanctuary
The Huayllay National Sanctuary is located in the Peruvian central Andes (Pasco region) between 4,100 – 4,546 masl. It is a forest of stones with impressive cliffs and curious shapes formed by wind, water and glacier erosion.
